Transcending Marginalization

January2024
Community CelebrationTheme: Love as Pluralism
Speaker: Pastor AJ Blackwood
6:00pm MTZOOM

Join us every 2nd Sunday of the month for a Community Celebration!

“We celebrate that we are all sacred beings, diverse in culture, experience, and theology. We covenant to learn from one another in our free and responsible search for truth and meaning. We embrace our differences and commonalities with Love, curiosity, and respect.”

UUA Article II Commission (Proposal)

Pastor AJ will be reflecting with us asking the question: “What does it mean to live in a pluralist world where each of us has a multifaceted story and background that transcends multiple marginalizations that feed into the richness of our communal story?”

We will discuss, share, and reflect on “Love as Pluralism,” as we continue with our year long “Love as …” series centering on the UUA Bylaws Article II Proposal and asking what it means to hold “Love as Pluralism as fully realized individuals who are interconnected with the world around us in mind, body, and spirit.

This is a BIPOC Only space. If you’re a white ally, feel free to pass this invitation along to BIPOC siblings.

Community Celebrations (worship) are different each Sunday, but we always have music, an extended check-in and discussion because we believe our lives and experiences as BIPOC folks are sacred texts. We generally stay together for 2 1/2 hours, but you are welcome to stay for as long or as short a time as suits you.

After our worship, we’ll have a check-in, and everyone will have the opportunity to share what is important in our lives with the community.

Sometimes we have a large crowd and sometimes just a few folks, but we are committed to always holding this space for anyone who may wish to join us.

We hope to see you soon!
