June 11 youth worship!
This worship is open to ALL middle and high school youth.
Calling all UU youth!
You’re invited to the Mountain Top/CO UUs for Racial Justice/UU Justice Ministry of California’s June youth worship! This month, we finish up our five senses theme with smell! What does our youth space smell like? What is your favorite smell, and what memories are attached to it? What role does smell play in worship? And if you had a cat-like sense of smell, how would you wield this superpower? Please register by June 8 in order to receive your welcome packet for this month’s worship, including this month’s fidget!
What to Expect!
The event will consist of half an hour of worship and ritual, followed by discussion and activity groups.
We’ll worship together, have fun, build community, and learn about our faith and ourselves.
Why?
To celebrate our youth and provide a space to create community.
and:
- Provide the inter-congregational, spiritually supportive, community-building space for youth that they’ve been missing
- Have conversations about white supremacy culture, racism, and childism with youth to parallel what is happening in adult TMT/UURJ space and model new, anti-racist culture and ways of being together
- Have conversations about how youth would like to experience belonging and engagement in their congregations. When we have a handle on the experiences and feelings of the youth, we will eventually be having conversations with the adults on youth belonging in congregations, too.
