A Word from Pastor AJ

Hello Mountaineers!

Welcome to May! Our theme for this month is Love as Equity. In reflection of this theme, we will be asking you over this month and the months to come about how we can better serve you, especially those who are sitting out on the margins of our community.

Over these first few years of creating this community at TMT, we have changed and evolved from a local group supporting our BIPOC community in the Denver Metro, to now a national and international support community. Originally, most of our community members engaged TMT as a supplemental community to their “brick and mortar” local UU congregations, but that has changed and now most of our community members are now “free range” UUs who have left or do not have access to a local community.

We aim to be a community that is ever evolving and living into a covenant that adapts and grows with the needs of its membership. The Steering Committee and I have been working together to evaluate the needs of our community, and as always welcome your input. Some of the areas we will be addressing in the months to come will be around the questions of programming, strategies for support, and new ways to invite you in engaging with our TMT community.

We are currently having conversations about our plans for the Fall and upcoming congregational year, our relationships with other UU organizations, such as DRUUMM, BridgesUU, UUs for Racial Justice, the UUA, and our Covenanting Communities, which now include congregations in California, Colorado, and UU Justice Ministry of California.

Additionally, we are exploring new ways to increase our Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy program to offer more services and availability to you. We truly want to be “A Mountain of Support” to you.

Please let us know how we can better serve you and welcome you into our community!

In Service,

AJ
