Lia Nagase
Rev Lia Nagase (she / ella) creates new and embraces older ways of being in relationship, firmly rejecting white supremacy culture, patriarchy, and capitalism, while actively centering community. She makes meaning by being with others in the wholeness of life – silliness & laughter, sorrow & grief. She founded 170 Trees (170Trees.org), which houses three programs: an online interfaith spiritual community center, a spiritual community for those practicing high levels of covid caution and care (Kintsugi Community), and a text-based support service for those who are dying (Spirited Solace).
She is ordained through the Chaplaincy Institute and completed the Thanatology and ISCC (Interspiritual Companioning and Counseling) programs through One Spirit Learning Alliance. You can find her living on the side of the Poás volcano in Costa Rica, with her partner, Finn, and their three kids (Mas, Shaifali, and Tenzin). She loves singing and songwriting and has started taking piano lessons again after a couple-decades-long break!
