Day 18. Invisible No More: Asian Pacific Islanders in Unitarian Universalism.

Join us for the premier screening today at 4 pm MT of Vivien Hao’s new documentary, Invisible No More: Asian Pacific Islanders in Unitarian Universalism. Filmed and edited in six U.S. cities over the last two years, this 45-minute documentary will be shown at Mt. Diablo Universalist Church in Walnut Creek. Zoom info is available at the website, after you Register.

This project is the result of a long-held dream that Unitarian Universalist congregations would have a tool to reach unchurched people of color, especially Asian Pacific Islanders in major metro areas. Through the generous support of the UU Funding Program, the Pacific Western Region, key congregations and individuals, she has interviewed API UUs about their experiences in our faith and their dreams for the future. What they say may surprise you!

If you would like to reach out to the API community in your area, the film could serve as a launching pad for discussion and institutional change. The screening and study guide are available as “self-serve” tools or if you prefer, Vivien is available to present the film and lead discussions.

Please provide date(s) when you would like to schedule such a session, either live or hybrid on zoom. She would be happy to work with you and your antiracism/BIPOC group to organize and publicize this.

There are many unchurched people of Asian Pacific Islander descent who are yearning for the beloved community in our faith. Thank you for sharing this widely with your networks.
